Justice System policy

Jails are full and it costs more money to keep people in prison, then what it’s worth. SDUSA KS says refocus efforts into rehabilitation ,so people can go back into society. Kansas spends $30,100 annually per adult inmate. This is money can be refocused into other Kansas sectors. The prison system is modern day slavery. The prisoners are forced into labor with little wage ,lack of protections and the system unequally targets African Americans. Prison shouldn’t be a for profit system, like it currently is. The USA has a high number of imprisoned people to civilians.

Non-violent offenders should get more of a chance at probation or diversion with ample wiggle room from reforms, based on time served and good behavior.

SDUSA, KS seeks reforms to the prison system through rehabilitation programs and lowering the amount of incarcerated.
