Philosophy:
SDUSA, KS believes that the world is inherently broken and needs to be repaired. The organization and its members take part in repairing the world by advocating for policy that helps it. This can be seen with policies like Sustainable Energy and our drug reform policy. We understand Social Democratic principles to mean empowerment and solidarity in a brother/sisterhood.
Purpose of policy:
We support policy that uplift people and put them first. This position reflects our call and commitment to Social Democracy. We’ve disavowed the oligarchical rich and fight them democratically with policy and advocation.
Why these policies matter to Kansas:
Kansas is just like any other state in America it faces similar struggles, as the other 49. Kansas is however behind on even acknowledging these policies, while neighboring states flourish because they’ve adopted already similar progressive ones. For example, cannabis (all neighboring states at least have medical) , increasing the minimum wage in Missouri and bills related to criminal justice reform in Oklahoma.If you expand the radius, you could find more examples. These polices matter to Kansas, because it’ll allow her to be relieved from potential suffering.

Core Belief:
SDUSA, KS believes that governments should serve the people by investing in and protecting its civilians at home and abroad. What we mean by investing is having the government produce more opportunities for those more unfortunate then you and I. It can protect people by the same means of investment like with Medicare for all.
