LGBTQ+ protections

SDUSA, KS knows that LGBTQ+ people have been victims of hate crimes, based on who they love, identify as, or even who they are. We won’t stand or put up with discriminating against LGBTQ+ people. Its time that Kansas sticks up for everyone. Its time to call for reforms in how people approach LGBTQ+ individuals in society and we treat them like the soul that they are.

  • LGBTQ+ people in Kansas report experiencing discrimination and harassment in employment, housing, public accommodations, and other settings
  • LGBTQ+ people in Kansas experience poor socioeconomic outcomes
  • Public opinion in Kansas supports the passage of non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people

Its time Kansas adopt an official non-discrimination law protecting LGBTQ+ people, like some places in Kansas have. For example, Kansas city, Lawrence and Shawnee have laws in place.
