Whereas for Kansas to remain an agriculture powerhouse… farm land must remain with supported farmers and sustainable farming should be implemented
Whereas rural Kansas deserves an infrastructure update with access to hospitals and high speed Internet being fundamental
Whereas Kansas should be able to develop local rent control based on the needs of the local municipality. Tenant unions should form alongside other unions in Kansas.

Whereas Kansas should adopt affordable housing programs that house those at risk of homelessness and in direct harm’s way from causation. This allows for fast tracking in development of homes and zoning reforms based on need.
Whereas AI should be community and ethical, based on the ability to provide its own resources in water. electricity, and land without fear of utilities increases
Whereas Kansas should invest in solar-powered parking lots and do similar ideas to other empty spaces. Overall, renewables should be invested statewide.
Whereas community policing should be enacted by trained, paid elected volunteers. This is based on what the community needs in response to crime and social welfare checks.
Whereas Kansas should enact a minimum wage of $12 per hour and a living wage of $17.25 with adjustments for tipped wages being raised accordingly. This provides a standard of living while allowing flexibility for the company and economy. The living wage is suggested while the minimum wage is a requirement.
Whereas Kansas small businesses should be prioritized over corporations with small businesses getting incentives to hire and sell in Kansas. Small businesses will be the heart of Kansas life with entrepreneurship rocketing.
Whereas Kansas should further invest in public transportation and connect metro areas. In this it will be easier to transverse the metro from Lawrence, Wichita, and other major hubs
Whereas Kansas should push to end Citizens United. In that dirty money is taken out of politics and the people are represented.
Whereas those reforms could be centered around numerous states, the policy debate isn’t
limited to Infrastructure, accessibility, or education improvements.
Whereas Kansas should tax monopolies and the rich and support a trickle-up economic
structure. Where the poor can invest in the economy.
Whereas Kansas should become a union state, for unions increase production and innovation for workers
Whereas education should be vital to the average citizen, for an educated worker can do more. K-12 and other public schools like community colleges and trade schools should be funded years in advance.
Whereas Kansas can be a leader in the country and a producer with the right social democratic policies. In this Kansas will become a powerhouse attracting workers, scholars, and other essential people to build back Kansas.
Whereas Kansas has the map and independence to become a powerhouse in the USA based on location and ability to produce and provide in a demand and consumer market
Therefore, Kansas must be social democratic and adopt reforms in all sectors of life
Therefore, Kansas must tax the rich and redistribute the wealth into various welfare programs aimed at uplifting people. In this lifted people can put more into the state’s economy.
Therefore, if Kansas does these things, the state will improve drastically in a manner of years with a mass mobilization to move to Kansas
Therefore, community college education should be funded for work-related reasons and to better inform citizens
Therefore success of platform is measured in livability, educational scores, and overall happiness of Kansas citizens
Let it be resolved that Kansas can be a leader if it adopts working policies and breaks away from the oligarchy and status quo then it can become a different type of powerhouse in the states
Let it be further resolved that SDUSA Kansas supports a free and open state where discrimination doesn’t exist, the law is enforced equally, and inequality is managed. In this by being social democratic Kansas can lead.
